African Christianity: Why Conviction Should Precede Enterprise

How did I become a christian? Let me tell you... I have witnessed many animal blood sacrifices including the one that was performed on my brother in an attempt for excorcism.. and so? 

If blood sacrifices create visible effects in this earth reality how much more would the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross do to this earth realm for salvation... YES, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice that brought the spiritual empowerment of the leverage of righteousness and purity over the affairs of this earth dimension..

Moreso, the ways of christ which are the virtues spoken of in the Bible are the ways of truth, love and empathy necessary for the thriving of a collective and in the natural auric glow of a human being.. so JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.

But as always...

There are gray areas to everything..

Africa boasts as the continent with the highest number of Christians in the world... As of 2020, Africa held 31% of the world's Christians.. but yet the continent is the most behind economically, technologically, politically....wouldn't want to add ideologically..

Why is this so?... That a continent with the highest number of God worshipping people are behind in terms of global industrial and economical index... is this suppose to be so? After all Jesus Christ was a figure of dominion in terms of knowledge, wisdom, power, intelligence, esotericism... More so, the holy spirit which he promised us to come after his demise was meant to lead us into all knowledge..."all knowledge" which is to emphasize general awareness of intricacies of the universe and creation

Where is Africa missing it?

Asian countries practice more of eastern religions  and yet they are economically and technologically advanced than Africa...even still more socially cohesive and politically structured.. How come the continent that is so called "close to GOD" is behind in manifesting the "fruits of God" or at least showing signs of the radiance of God..? The answer to this question goes deep into the corridors of spiritual configuration and how the intricacies of virtue define what it means to worship GOD...

The conversation around the Grace of Christ

A friend of mine spoke to me recently about the mode of Christianity in our host country "Nigeria" and he said that Christianity down here was that of grace and not of truth... I instantly agreed with what he said because I knew that he implied that many Nigerian Christians thrive by the grace of Christ which is the victory over death and the dominion which he has called us to attain but not of truth which is the committed devotion to lead a righteous life and open ourselves to harbor the holy spirit. 

Salvation by grace simply means that humanity was given a chance to be redeemed from the spiritual death that was man's predicament as a result of man's fall from grace and being lost in darkness. Jesus Christ came to be the ultimate sacrifice that would finally be the eternal redemption atonement for mankind and for the availability of the holy spirit which was the spirit of knowledge and truth that would re-align man with his divine stature, position and destiny.... Salvation by grace was the clearance of the way... What then is the meaning of salvation by truth?

The Salvation By Truth

Salvation by Truth is the committed effort of the Christian individual in the conscious pursuit of righteousness in the sobriety of the virtues of God.

This is the inculcation of the fruits of the spirit which are love, goodness, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

 It is not to say that a man can attain these virtues alone by themselves but to mean that A genuine Christian has to give the holy spirit a chance by surrendering their souls and understanding to the whim of God in prayer and supplication

It is the inculcation of the fruits of the spirit in an individual that gives the holy spirit the power to rehabilitate that individual into attaining his/her Divine stature, position and destiny. This is the return of man to his pre-ordained Christ nature.

What is the Essence of the Holy Spirit's Rehabilitation?

Just as emphasized in the previous paragraph, the Holy Spirit's Rehabilitation is the procedural sequence of returning the individual to his Divine stature, position and destiny and this can only happen when the fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, kindness, gentleness, patience, goodness, faithfulness and self control). 

When these fruits of the spirit have been inculcated in the soul of a person it brings a behavioural manifestation that echo the glory and radiance of God: knowledge, mastery, creativity and innovation, to mention a few

What does this mean for the  African Christian?

What this means for the African Christian is that it is not enough to be saved by grace alone but to body the responsibility of being called by God to manifestation: which is the inculcation of the fruits of the spirit by communing with the holy spirit and harbouring it within us... 

It is when the holy spirit rehabilitates the individual that a change can happen from the inside and affects the outside, and if this rehabilitation happens on a collective level Africa would take its rightful place in the global scheme of things. 

Creativity and innovation are attributes of God through the holy spirit's occupation of the human vessel.

The Responsibility of African Preachers

African preachers have the responsibility of reiterating the essence of this gospel to their followers so that they grow in spirit and become individuals who manifest mastery and innovation in their individualism and thus impact their environment creatively and innovatively. 

It is not enough to preach prosperity and spiritual protection gospels to console and pacify the church per their economic and emotional circumstances..

African preachers should remind their followers about the dominion of Christ and how their spiritual growth makes these other trivial issues a steeping stone for their manifestation. 

Matthew 6:33 seek first the kingdom and all these other things would be added into you.
